Muthoot Finance Provides Specialised Wheelchair to Support Mobility of Tribal Girl in Kerala

Muthoot Finance Ltd. extended critical mobility support to a 17-year-old girl from a tribal settlement in Ernakulam district, Kerala, by providing a specialised Cerebral Palsy (CP) wheelchair under its Muthoot Snehasancharini initiative.

The beneficiary, Sindhu Sivadas, resides in the Uriyamppetty Tribal Settlement in the Kuttampuzha forest area and had been facing significant mobility challenges due to her condition. Recognising her need for proper assistive support, the initiative was facilitated following the recommendation of Parvathy Gopakumar, IAS, Assistant Collector, Ernakulam.

Enabling Mobility, Comfort, and Independence

The company worked closely with the Tribal Development Office in Muvattupuzha to identify and provide a customised CP wheelchair designed with appropriate postural alignment and safety features. This specialised equipment will help improve the beneficiary’s comfort, mobility, and overall quality of life.

The wheelchair was handed over at the tribal settlement by Mathews Abraham, Branch Manager (Nellikuzhy), along with Lakshman, Tribal Promoter, in the presence of the beneficiary’s family members.
