MUTHOOT M. GEORGE EXCELLENCE AWARD 2014 & CASH PRIZES FOR KARNATAKA GOVERNMENT SCHOOLS

Muthoot Finance Ltd, India’s largest gold loan company’s Corporate Social Responsibility wing Muthoot M George Foundation launched its educational initiative ” Muthoot M George Excellence Awards 2014 ” for all government schools in Karnataka The educational initiative is a part of one of the Corporate Social Responsibility activity undertaken by the company for FY 15.

The Excellence award for 2014 was inaugurated and distributed by Dr Manjunatha, MLA- Mulbagal, Kolar (Karnataka) along with Mr George Muthoot Alexander, Muthoot, Sr Vice President – Operations South, Muthoot Finance Ltd. The other officials present during this occasion include Mr Babu John Malayil, AGM Corporate Communications Muthoot Finance Ltd, Mr. B Karunakara Shetty, Regional Manager Muthoot Finance Ltd, North Bangalore, and Mr Mathunny, Sr Regional Manager Muthoot Finance Ltd, South Bangalore along with PTA members, Students and Parents.

This scholarship will benefit students of 400 Government schools and consists of a cash prize of Rs.3000 with a certificate duly signed by Educational Officer and Chairman of Muthoot M George Foundation. The scholarship award was launched in the year 2010 to the toppers of govt schools in Kerala, later in 2013 it got extended to state of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The selection of the scholarships is based on the list of rank holders prepared of various govt schools in consultation with District Educational Offices.

Speaking on this occasion Shri G Manjunatha said “I am happy to be a part of this event today, I am glad an institution like Muthoot Group which has undertaken such an initiative, it truly, depicts their noble objective of doing good for the society, this scholarship program would encourage and motivate our Government school children to excel in their studies in a big way”

Mr. George M Alexander said, “This year we have extended the scholarship to 400 govt schools in Karnataka as we felt that we should encourage the children from the deprived class, who constitute the main student population of Government schools and support. We will remain duly committed towards our commitment to the community through coming up with various corporate social responsibility in the near future”
