MUTHOOT M. GEORGE EXCELLENCE AWARDS & CASH PRIZES FOR ALL GOVERNMENT KERALA SCHOOLS

Muthoot Finance Ltd, India’s largest gold loan company’s Corporate Social Responsibility wing Muthoot M George Foundation launched its educational initiative “Muthoot M George Excellence Awards 2014 “for all government schools in Kerala. The educational initiative is is a part of one of the Corporate Social Responsibility activities undertaken by the company for FY 15. The Scholarship awards will be given to SSLC exam toppers which consist of a citation and a cash prize of Rs 3000 each.

 

The Excellence award for 2014 was distributed by Hon’ble Minister of Education, Govt of Kerala Shri P K Abdu Rabb, along with Mr George Alexander Muthoot, Managing Director, Muthoot Finance Ltd. Other dignitaries present during this occasion included Shri Tony Chammany, Hon’ble Mayor, Corporation of Cochin, Mr. K P Padmakumar, Executive Director, Muthoot Finance Ltd, Mr. George Thomas Muthoot, Joint Managing Director, Muthoot Finance Ltd , Rev Fr Thomas, Vaikathparambil, Director, Lissie Hospital, Ernakulam, Ms. Subdra Vally, DEO,- Ernakulam,, Prof Titus Varkey, Principal, Muthoot Staff Training College and Mr.Venugopal C Govind, Senior Managing Partner,Varma & Varma Chartered Accountants along with students, PTA members and teachers.

The Excellence Awards have been distributed to Kerala Govt schools for the last 5 years, Similar awards are distributed in Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh where it will cover 400 government schools this year. The Excellence award is also provided to deserving students from poor families, who are pursuing professional courses including nursing, are supported financially by offering scholarships etc.

Mr. George Alexander Muthoot said” It has been our constant endeavour to make significant contributions towards an equitable and sustainable society, through this initative our prime objective is to encourage and reach out to young and bright students from deprived class, who constitute the main student population of Government schools. We will remain duly committed to our obligations to our society and will ensure our efforts towards it remain constant and enduring in the near future too”.
