Muthoot Finance Honours Over 680 Government School Students under Muthoot M. George Excellence Awards 2025–26
Muthoot Finance Ltd. reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive education and social empowerment through the 16th edition of the Muthoot M. George Excellence Awards 2025–26, one of its flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The programme recognises and encourages meritorious students from underprivileged backgrounds studying in government schools across India.
This year, over 680 students from Classes 8 and 9 were honoured for their academic excellence. Each student received a cash award of ₹3,000 along with a memento, providing encouragement and financial support at a crucial stage in their academic journey. The initiative aims to motivate students to continue pursuing education and achieving their full potential.
Nationwide Implementation Across Key Regions
The Excellence Awards were conducted across multiple regions, ensuring wide-scale impact and community engagement:
- Chennai Region:
A total of 180 students from 90 government higher secondary schools across 21 districts in Tamil Nadu North Zone were recognised. The programme was supported by 88 Muthoot Finance branches, with awards presented during school assemblies and special ceremonies attended by school authorities and local dignitaries. - Bengaluru Region:
Held on 24 January 2026 at Government High School, Gudibande, Chikkaballapur district, the programme honoured 100 students from 50 government schools. The event witnessed the participation of education officials, company representatives, teachers, parents, and students. - Hyderabad Region:
Conducted on 29 January 2026 at Paryataka Bhavan, the ceremony recognised 100 meritorious students from government schools across the city. The event was graced by Bandaru Dattatreya, Former Governor and Union Minister, along with senior officials and dignitaries. - Madurai Region:
The programme took place at the Collectorate Office in Theni district on 29 January 2026, where 100 students were honoured in the presence of district administration and education department officials. - Mangalore Region:
A decentralised approach was adopted across seven clusters covering four districts, benefiting 100 students from 50 government schools, with strong coordination between branches and school authorities. - Kolkata Region:
The programme recognised 100 students from 50 government schools across Kolkata and Howrah, with active participation from regional teams and education stakeholders.
