Muthoot Shape A Smile Brings New Hope to Children in Kolkata

Under its CSR initiative, ‘Muthoot Shape a Smile’, Muthoot Group successfully facilitated corrective surgeries for 10 cleft-affected children from economically disadvantaged families in West Bengal, in association with EBMA Foundation. The surgeries were conducted on April 9 and 10 at Dumdum Medical Centre.

The beneficiaries were identified from underprivileged families across different districts of the state through detailed home visits and socio-economic assessments. The study revealed that the families were unable to afford the specialised medical treatment required for their children.

A total of 20 patients registered for the programme on April 8, following which routine medical screenings were conducted. Based on the medical evaluation, 10 children were selected for surgery. All procedures were completed successfully, bringing renewed confidence, hope, and happiness to the children and their families. Parents shared that the initiative had brought a significant positive transformation in their children’s lives and future prospects.

A public event was later organised to share the experiences and recovery journey of the beneficiaries and their families. The initiative reflects Muthoot Group’s continued commitment towards improving access to quality healthcare and supporting vulnerable communities through impactful and sustainable CSR interventions.
