SOLAR LAMP DISTRIBUTION SPONSORED

The Muthoot Group sponsored an undertaking by college students in Delhi to provide solar-powered lamps to street vendors as an alternative to the gas-powered lamps or generator-powered bulbs. There are over 200,000 hawkers in the Delhi/NCR area. Many of them have to shell out between Rs.1200 – Rs.1800 for renting light bulbs or gas lamps from local vendors. This amount isn’t always feasible for the hawkers which is why The Muthoot Group sponsored an initiative that gave street hawkers a solar-powered lamp for their businesses for only Rs. 500, thus making this greener alternative economically viable for them.
