FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO ECONOMICALLY BACKWARD

Financial assistance is given to patients from poor families affected by serious illnesses like cancer, heart problem, kidney disease, etc. The Muthoot M George Foundation has working arrangements in this respect with leading hospitals in various cities. The only criteria for selection for assistance are their financial position. Thousands of families have been benefitted through this initiative.

 

CSR PROJECT FOR PUBLIC SANITATION

As a CSR initiative of The Muthoot Group, with the support of the Credai Clean City Movement, an E Toilet was inaugurated at Indira Priyadarshini Children's Park, Ernakulam. District Collector Shri. Sheik Pareed IAS inaugurated the facility. Credai president Shri. John Manavalan, Muthoot Group Asst. General Manager Shri Babu John Malayil, Executive Director Shri. George M. George, Credai Executive Director Shri. Jose Joseph Manjeli were present on this occasion.

FOOD DISTRIBUTION

In connection with the birth centenary of our Founder Chairman, food was distributed to all in-patients of the General Hospital, Ernakulam on the 4th and 5th of February, 2012. Breakfast, lunch, evening tea, and snacks as well as dinner was provided during these days. Since the patients at the hospital are mainly people from economically backward segments, this measure was well appreciated. Under the auspices of the Muthoot M. George Foundation more such food distribution programs are planned for the future as well.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS AT ERNAKULAM GENERAL HOSPITAL

Muthoot M George Foundation organized Christmas celebration for Cancer patients at Ernakulam General Hospital. Present on the occasion were Ernakulam District Collector Shri Sheik Pareed (IAS), The Muthoot Group Joint Managing Director Shri George Thomas Muthoot, and The Muthoot Group Executive Director Shri George M George. The District Collector congratulated the Directors of Muthoot Group for bringing happy moments into lives which are mostly riddled with pain and suffering.

 

GOLDEN RACE FOR THE CURE - A MINI MARATHON

Muthoot Finance in association with Y’S Men International organized a Mini marathon race for raising funds for Cancer and Palliative Care patients at General Hospital Ernakulam. The run was named “Golden Race for the Cure” and hundreds of people participated in the program. The program was organized on 4th February 2012 “World Cancer Day” and the participants were wearing pink T-shirts, the official colour for cancer disease, to create awareness on the disease among the general public.

DONATION OF SEWING MACHINES THROUGH KANDANAD DAYARA

Under the auspices of Muthoot M George Foundation, 6 Merrit High-speed sewing machines were distributed to the Disabled persons at Edakkara, Calicut. All these disabled persons were trained to use these heavy-duty electric sewing machines, which were capable of stitching big shopper bags, upholstery materials, etc, which will enable the beneficiaries to get more income.

MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE

Assistance is given to girls belonging to poor families, especially girls of widows, for their marriage. Many of these families find it very difficult to make the necessary arrangements without external assistance. Muthoot M. George Foundation has helped thousands of families in their hour of need.

 

EXAMINATION COUNSELLING

In order to combat Exam Phobia which often results in the gap between ability and performance of students, Muthoot M George Foundation organized an examination awareness-building class for the students in association with Fr. John Puthuva, Bharathmatha College, Thrikkakkara. This counselling not only abated the students' anxiety about exams but also, made them aware of the most effective ways to approach the exams and answer the questions for obtaining maximum scores.
